North Orissa University invites applications (seven copies) in the prescribed form from the eligible candidates for appointment to the posts of Professors, Readers and Lecturers. The last date of receipt of completed application is 16.01.2012.



Essential Qualification:
Computer Application – Master Degree in Computer Application/ Computer Science.
Biotechnology – Master Degree in Biotechnology or Allied Subjects.
Economics – Master Degree in Economics.
Physics – M. Sc. in Physics.
Chemistry – M. Sc. in Chemistry.
Zoology – M. Sc. in Zoology.

(i) An eminent scholar with Ph. D. qualification (s) in the concerned/ allied/
relevant discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged
in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10
publications as books and/or research/policy papers.
(ii) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/ college,
and/ or experience in research at the University/ National level
institutions/ industries, including experience of guiding candidates for
research at doctoral level.
(iii) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and
courses, and technology – mediated teaching learning process.
(iv) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator
(API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS).
OR
An outstanding professional with established reputation in the relevant field,
who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials. Reader i. Good academic record with a Ph. D. Degree in the concerned/ allied/ relevant disciplines.
ii. A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a
point scale wherever grading system is followed).
iii. A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an
academic/ research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor/ Lecturer in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry excluding the period of Ph. D. research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.
iv. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and
courses, and technology – mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.
v. A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS). Lecturer i. Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55% of marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have
cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/ SET for the respective subjects.

1. The application form duly filled in by the candidate must be supported by attested copies of all certificates, mark sheets, evidence of teaching, research experience and production of Ph. D. scholar(s), copies of published articles, certificate containing the record of date of birth.
2. Candidates are required to attend the interview on their own expenses.
3. Candidates are required to produce their original certificates/testimonials for verification at the
time of interview.
4. ST/SC/SEBC candidates must furnish the original Caste Certificate issued by the competent authority for
verification.
5. Applications of the in-service candidates should be routed through the concerned employer.
6. Incomplete forms shall summarily be rejected.
7. In-service candidates should ensure that the CCRs/Performance Appraisal Report of last five years is received by the undersigned confidentially before the date of interview.
8. Issue of this advertisement does not make it binding on the part of the University to make appointment.
